Where's your creative energy going?

You are not crazy. Times are crazy.

You are just a beautiful human trying your best during some of the weirdest times in history.

We are still dealing with strange days, lots of uncertainty, and many unsettling situations. It would be crazy not to feel a bit crazy. I felt like reminding you because I forget about it all the time!

Our bodies are carrying excessive stress and tension, but where's our mental energy going?

Are we focusing on the things falling apart or using our creative energy to build something new? How are we directing our creative power? Is it stuck with the tension in our bodies? Or are we able to channel it into something we would like to see?

We are hardwired to create. Whether consciously or unconsciously, we are creating all the time.

With all the different things happening in our world, it is really easy to get triggered and sucked into black holes of destructive energy and division. It is crucial to notice and recognize when people or stories are draining our energy.

We have a choice.

How do you want to channel your energy this month?

For me, September was an inspiring month to renew my commitment to Mother Earth. Climate Week NYC was a wonderful time to connect with other future builders and learn more about many innovative solutions to which people are dedicating their lives.

I also had the joy of facilitating an in-person workshop for children adapted from my ecological resilience circles. One of the activities we did was a somatic exercise combined with sound healing to teach emotional awareness and cultivate inner resilience.

This is a great exercise that helps children understand how they experience different emotions and practice Active Hope for the future they would like to see.

Through these activities, we transform different emotions into positive expressions or ideas of something they would like to become involved with to support nature's healing. By healing nature, we heal ourselves.

One child told me that he gets "angry a lot," and he thought there was something wrong with him for feeling angry. He thought his anger was a bad thing that made him a bad child, but after working with those emotions together, he felt much better about himself, knowing that anger is just an emotion that doesn't define him.

Emotions are just energy in motion, and energy can be transformed.

Another child told me that he still has a little bit of hope that adults will do the right thing for the planet. The orange color in his heart represents his hope.

At the end of our time together, children expressed their desire to do something nice for the planet, such as planting trees doing beach clean-ups, helping animals, or connecting more with nature.
