I hope your family and loved ones are safe.
I wish I could share something different with you today. I wish I could share other kinds of resources. It's heartbreaking that we live in a society where mental health professionals have ready-to-use resources for this kind of situation.
We all have different roles to play in society, even in a very sick society. Today my role is to share what I can to help you navigate these unsettling times a little better. If you live in the US, here are some resources that may be useful for yourself, your children, and those around you. No amount of resources would make this a normal situation, but I hope you find this helpful in some way:
Helping your children manage distress in the aftermath of a shooting
Age related reactions to a traumatic event
Talking to children about school violence
Taking care of yourself after a traumatic event
Please be extra kind to yourself today and remember to take care of your nervous system.
